Whether you are just starting out, new to group riding, coming back to cycling or would simply like to socialize with other riders, the Tuesday night Club Ride 101 may be the thing for you!
The intention of these rides is both for fun and getting physical activity (or dare I say, excercise) and to gain experience both in a bike ride and in group riding. Also with a secondary intention of training for the Flat Fifty Plus ride on June 21st. We will meet Tuesday evening at Adams Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IN., in the southeast corner of the parking lot. This is a 6 week session with the rides on May 6, 13, 20, 27, June 3 & 10. The rides leave the parking lot promptly between 6:30 and 6:35pm. Starting with 10 to 15 miles on the first ride, adding a few miles each week ending with 25 to 30 miles on the last ride. The first ride being about 1 hr to 1 hr & 15-20 minutes, increasing in time to about 2 - 2 hr & 30 minutes on the last ride.
Obviously these rides are weather dependent. Temperature needs to be above 49 degrees. If there's a mist or a light rain to spotty rain we will still ride. However, thunder and lighting, heavy rain, and if there is a tornado (close by) the ride is rescheduled for the following evening (Wed. evening). If there is inclement weather on Wednesday also, then the ride is cancelled that week. If there is any question if the ride is cancelled or not, especially due to bad weather, we will post the information on our facebook page or you may call Rick's Bike Shop at (260) 724-2705. All the dates for the Club Ride 101 are also listed on our facebook page, where you can also RSVP. We would greatly appreciate it if you could either RSVP on the facebook page or call Rick's Bike Shop so we have some idea of how many are riding.
Bike Helmets Strongly Encouraged
If you do not have one, you can purchase one either at Rick's Bike Shop or Wal-Mart.
